Activities Assistant – Full-Time
Linwood Meadows Care Center
Pay Range: $17.48–$17.55 per hour

Linwood Meadows Care Center is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Full-Time Activities Assistant to join our team. This position works closely with the Activity Director to provide engaging programs that support each resident’s physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with planning and conducting individual, small-group, and large-group activities.
- Encourage residents to participate in facility programs, hobbies, crafts, games, reading, and other self-directed activities.
- Help develop and maintain the monthly activities calendar and resident attendance records.
- Provide in-room activities for residents who are bed-bound, isolated, or unable to attend group programs.
- Prepare activity materials, including accessible resources such as audiobooks or Braille materials when appropriate.
- Assist with resident outings and transportation arrangements as needed.
- Support the development and implementation of resident activity assessments and care plans.
- Complete assessment documentation and quarterly progress notes as assigned by the Activity Director.
- Participate in discharge planning and interdisciplinary resident-care discussions when requested.
- Communicate positively and professionally with residents, families, employees, visitors, and community partners.
- Assist with facility events, celebrations, and community engagement activities.
- Help identify opportunities to improve the quality and variety of resident programming.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and secure Activities Department.
- Protect resident privacy and maintain the confidentiality of all resident information.
- Follow all facility policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Activity Director or facility leadership.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred.
- Previous activities, recreation, caregiving, hospitality, or customer-service experience is helpful.
- Creative, energetic, patient, and compassionate personality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage residents with different interests and abilities.
- Ability to read and understand policies, procedures, and written instructions.
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Dependable attendance and a resident-centered attitude.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
This position frequently requires standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, speaking, and hearing. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception—as well as the ability to adjust focus—may be required.
