Description
This position provides the day-to-day administrative support for the School Health Division to ensure the efficient operation of the division. Manages and coordinates key administrative functions including scheduling substitute coverage for health room staff, supporting the recruitment of new staff through scheduling interviews and preparing interview materials. Additionally, the position includes scheduling training sessions, managing supply orders and ensuring the logistical and clerical needs of the division are met. Supports the administrative functions of the Medical Services Review Team (MSRT) program, contracted nursing services, and orientation. Functions in a timekeeper role to support the division staff with time entry related activities in accordance with county and health department human resources protocol.

High school graduation and two years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
- Valid driver's license
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification (Required within 30 days).
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification (Required within 30 days).
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check, Child Protective Services Registry check, driving record check, and sanction screenings to the satisfaction of the employer.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two or more years of experience performing administrative support work in a health care setting such as a health department, hospital or other medical facility.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment with a proactive mindset, exercising good judgement and critical thinking skills, including collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience providing excellent customer service with the ability to interact in a friendly, service-oriented and professional manner with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Must communicate effectively through use of verbal, written, and electronic means.
- Experience working in a high-volume office with multiple interruptions performing various tasks, such as database maintenance, filing systems, scheduling, communications, etc.
- Must have a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with customers and colleagues.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience with budgets.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Job is generally sedentary in nature, and requires walking, standing, sitting (for long periods of time), and kneeling, reaching, bending, climbing stairs; may be required to lift or carry up to 25 lbs. as required for the position. Uses hands to grasp, handle, or feel. Visual acuity is required to read data from paper and on a computer monitor or other electronic device; ability to operate keyboard driven equipment and computer and use of touchscreen. Position frequently communicates and must be able to exchange accurate information with others verbally and in writing. Ability to drive a motor vehicle. Generally, works in an office environment and may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting. All duties performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
