This opportunity is ideal for experienced investment operations professionals who want to play a critical role in supporting the trade lifecycle, ensuring accurate trade matching, settlements, reconciliations, and issue resolution across global investment activities. This role directly contributes to our mission by safeguarding operational integrity, delivering high-quality support to portfolio managers and traders, and driving efficient, risk-managed investment operations. Beyond daily oversight, the position influences service excellence through process improvements, automation initiatives, enhanced controls, and collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders. Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day operational support and oversight (Trade Matching, Settlements and Post settlements processing and claims), prioritizing as necessary.
  • Perform first level of quality checking to financial and transactional instructions before being sent out.
  • Ability to cover tasks that might arise from coverage issues.
  • Communicate effectively and proficiently with the brokers, traders, custodians and other third-party vendors in both written and verbal form to ensure timely and smooth settlements and issues resolution.
  • Investigate and resolve trade issues or mismatches highlighted in the systems or raised by Front Office (Portfolio Managers/Traders) Brokers, Custodians, and Internal Investment teams.
  • Resolves and closes positions and cash reconciliations related to trade transactions.
  • Develop and maintain enhanced procedures and controls within investment operations to ensure consistent high-quality services and support for the front office, clients and other business units.
  • Ensure strong understanding of tasks assigned including investment concepts, best practices, and system requirements.
  • Ensure willingness to participate in Cross skilling assignments.
  • Timely escalation of issues to Assistant Manager / Manager. Proactively mitigate process gaps or potential issues.
  • Ability to think critically and act timely on issue resolutions and escalations.
  • Manage and maintain good working relationships with Front Office, Onshore and Offshore counterparts.
  • Skilled in root-cause analysis to identify production problems and errors (creating and validating Sequence of Events) and develop timely solutions and controls to apply.
  • Strong communication skills and use of tact to resolve conflicts.
  • Propose and leads projects and process automations to promote service excellence.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior members and new joiners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related business course.
  • Minimum 5 years related work experience within Trade Support, Middle Office, Investment Operations and or Fund Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge in securities instruments such as Equities, Corporate and Government Bonds, US Treasury bonds, Foreign Exchange (FX) trades, Time Deposits, etc.
  • Good analytical and diagnostic skills with knowledge and strong ability to understand process design.
  • Excellent communication skills. (verbal, written and reading comprehension)
  • Demonstrates strong flexibility in the face of ambiguous situations, shifting demands, and challenging work environments. Use diplomacy and tact to resolve difficult situations.
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment, highly trainable and keen attention to details with a strong analytical ability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Capability to resolve complex problems and take perspective on existing solutions.
  • Capable of building metrics, reports, and presentations as needed by stakeholders or the management.
  •  Understands the concepts surrounding Trade Support functions and the Trade Life Cycle.
  • Possesses a fundamental understanding of investment transactions, trade lifecycle, and various asset classes.
  • Good working knowledge in using Bloomberg and other trading applications and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Investment certification is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Aladdin, Bloomberg, SimCorp Dimension, and to different custodian portals is highly preferred.

Additional Notes: 

  • Applicants should be willing to work on a day shift to early mid-shift schedule, amenable to changing shifts i.e. 7:30AM-4:30PM, 9:00AM-6:00PM or 12:00PM-9:00PM.
  • Applicants should be committed to complying with 3-day work on site requirement, fixed days Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
  • Applicants should be willing to report to Manulife Offices in UP Ayala Technohub in Quezon City or Newtown Mactan, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City.
