Description
Enabling smaller, more powerful and energy-efficient microchips – Working where tomorrow takes shape.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. As the heart of every electronically controlled system, they have become an indispensable part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, more powerful and more energy-efficient microchips – and, through its innovations, plays a key role in shaping the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
Your Role
- You will design and develop ultra-precision metrology solutions for the next generations of high-performance lithography optics in an exciting working environment
- You will work in an interdisciplinary team of highly qualified experts, coordinating, managing and implementing development activities with internal and external partners
- You will specify new measurement systems, derive requirements for subsystems and components, estimate accuracy levels and quantify them through metrological evaluation
- You will model measurement processes in purpose-built simulation environments, evaluate the results and compare them with dedicated measurements
- You will develop, implement and test novel calibration, correction and image-processing algorithms
- You will take technical responsibility for innovative metrology projects and independently present your work and results
Your Profile
What sets you apart...
- An excellent university degree in a STEM field (e.g. physics), preferably with a PhD
- A deep understanding of the functionality and interaction of complex components in the fields of optics, mechatronics and sensor technology
- Experience in data analysis, image processing and algorithm development
- An interest in taking on technical responsibility as well as initial experience in the technical leadership of small teams
- A structured approach to work and the ability to communicate complex results in an understandable manner
- Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration and working together to advance technical solutions
- A high level of commitment, regardless of the working time model
- Very good German and English language skills
