Position: Line Cook
Location: In person required: 1040 N 54th Street, Chandler, AZ 85226
Shift: Evenings, Nights, Weekends (Brunch), Holidays (Mandatory)
Starting Salary: $16.00 – 23.00
Expected Hours: 25– 35 per week (Based on business needs)
Supervisory: No direct reports. Reports to Sous Chefs, Executive Chef, General Manager

Position Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation, execution, and presentation of menu items in accordance with the restaurant's fine dining standards. This role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence in food quality, consistency, and guest satisfaction. The Line Cook works collaboratively with the culinary team to ensure a seamless dining experience while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient workstation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and plating standards.
- Execute dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail during service.
- Ensure all food is properly seasoned, portioned, and presented to meet fine dining expectations.
- Maintain readiness of assigned station through proper mise en place and organization.
- Assist with preparation of sauces, stocks, proteins, vegetables, desserts, and specialty menu items as directed.
Quality & Presentation
- Uphold the restaurant's standards for food quality, appearance, taste, and presentation.
- Inspect ingredients and finished dishes to ensure freshness and excellence.
- Follow established quality control procedures and communicate any concerns to culinary leadership.
- Support the delivery of an exceptional guest dining experience through culinary excellence.
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workstation throughout the shift.
- Properly label, date, and store products according to food safety guidelines.
- Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures.
- Assist with receiving and stocking deliveries as needed.
- Minimize waste through proper portioning and handling of ingredients.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with chefs and fellow team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Communicate effectively regarding product availability, preparation times, and service needs.
- Support a positive, respectful, and professional team environment.
- Assist other stations as needed during peak service periods.
Food Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Follow health department regulations and company policies.
- Maintain proper temperatures for food storage, preparation, and service.
- Immediately report equipment issues, safety concerns, or food quality problems.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1-3 years of culinary experience, preferably in a fine dining, upscale casual, or chef-driven restaurant.
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.
- Ability to follow recipes and plating specifications with consistency.
- Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgency.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Food Handler Certification as required by local regulations.
Preferred
- Experience working multiple stations, including sauté, grill, pantry, or garde manger.
- Culinary school education or formal culinary training.
- Knowledge of seasonal ingredients and contemporary culinary trends.
- Experience with scratch kitchens and high-volume service.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate kitchen equipment and perform detailed knife work.
