Description
Electrical Project Manager
Coffing Electric | Mount Vernon, OH
Serving Mount Vernon, Knox County, and surrounding Central Ohio areas
Run the Jobs, Lead the Crews, Own the Work
Coffing Electric is hiring an Electrical Project Manager in Mount Vernon. If you have spent years running electrical jobs and crews, and you are ready to manage projects and people, read this one carefully.
We are an electrical contractor serving residential, commercial, industrial, solar and agricultural customers across Central Ohio, with steady work year-round. We are hiring a project manager to run projects and lead the crews on them.
Position Overview
As an Electrical Project Manager at Coffing Electric, you run 2 to 5 active projects at a time from award through closeout: the plan, the crew and the customer relationship. This seat takes small to mid-size commercial project execution off the owners' plates, so they can focus on the larger work. If you are coming up from foreman, this is the step off the tools and into management.
Key Responsibilities
- Run 2 to 5 active projects at a time, from award through closeout
- Lead the small crews on your jobs and keep every job moving
- Read plans, drawings and specs, and turn them into a plan the crew can build from
- Schedule crews and manpower across your jobs, so every site has the people and material it needs
- Be the main point of contact for customers and general contractors, with clear updates and problems solved early
- Keep each job on schedule and on budget, and handle changes as they come up
- Walk your job sites for quality, safety and code compliance, and back up your foremen
- Take part in a weekly planning meeting with estimating and ownership to align timelines and priorities
- Keep the office updated as work is completed, so billing goes out on time
Required Qualifications
- 8 or more years in electrical construction
- Project manager experience, or about a decade as a journeyman or foreman who has run crews and jobs and is ready to step out of the field and manage people
- Strong at reading plans, drawings and specs, with solid NEC knowledge
- Experience scheduling crews and running several jobs at once
- Clear, professional communication with customers, general contractors and inspectors
- Journeyman or master electrician license is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Willing to complete a standard background check and drug screen
Compensation & Benefits
- $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience
- Health insurance: we cover 100% of the employee's health insurance and up to 50% of dependents
- SIMPLE IRA retirement plan
- Paid time off that increases with tenure, plus holidays
- Potential company vehicle, depending on experience
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, day shift
- Steady, year-round work with a well established Central Ohio contractor
- A growing company that is adding people at every level
- Stable leadership and an owner who knows your name
If you are a project manager, or a foreman who has run crews for a decade, and you want to own the work instead of chasing it, apply today with your resume and tell us about the biggest job you have run. We read every application and we respond. If you are a fit, you will be on the phone with someone within a day or two, not three weeks later.
