Role Definition
As Associate Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the Engineering & Design of Solar Turbine’s Construction Services’ Products. You will involve in the design of the Oil & Gas Projects such as Gas Compression stations project, you will demonstrate designing, implementing, and maintaining Piping systems within the Oil & Gas industry
The identified candidate will be a member of a cross-functional team that Involves in FEED, Detail engineering, Procurement, inhouse Fabrication and Commissioning activities and ensues all performance metrics are achieved
Responsibilities
The candidate should possess a minimum of 6-8 years of industry experience in engineering / design execution and associated applications. Experience should include significant, demonstrated results leading Piping design efforts supporting industrial gas turbine packaging and associated gas compression and power generation projects and BOP systems engineering and design. In addition, the candidate should demonstrate knowledge of discipline-related industry Codes & standards such as ASME & API and have experience with standards application across engineering specifications and vendor documentation. Comprehensive familiarity with CAD software packages supporting Piping design and broad knowledge of design and drafting techniques including, diagram generation, Isometrics creations, and details dwg creations.
- Knowledge of Piping design Codes and Standards such as ASME B 31.3 & B 31.8
- Line Sizing, Thickness Calculation, Pressure drop calculation Equipment sizing, Calculation.
- Preparation of Line List, Valve List, Equipment List, Piping Material Specification.
- Pipe Routing, Equipment Modelling using Autodesk Plant 3D.
- Develop and maintain intelligent piping models in Autodesk Revit, including piping systems, equipment, fittings, valves, accessories, and pipe supports.
- Create and manage Revit piping families, shared parameters, project templates, view templates, filters, schedules, and tagging standards.
- Produce coordinated piping layouts, plans, sections, elevations, spool or fabrication-ready views, and quantity schedules from the Revit model.
- Perform multidisciplinary BIM coordination by linking Revit and other discipline models, conducting interference reviews, and supporting clash resolution through Navisworks.
- Apply model quality checks for system connectivity, routing accuracy, slopes, elevations, clearances, maintainability, constructability, and compliance with project BIM standards.
- Knowledge about Pipe Supports and Support Engineering.
- Extraction of Piping Isometric from 3D Model and updating the Isometric for IFC.
- Creation of 2D drawing such as Piping Plan and Elevation, Equipment Layout.
- Preparation MTO, BOM from Piping 3D Models.
- Flexible and quick to learn global developments in EPC- Oil & Gas projects technologies and adopt.
- Continuous improvement of the design activity in terms of technical knowledge, efficiency, quality, and productivity.
- Provide virtual technical support for shop floor for the orders engineered & commissioning support.
Preferred Competencies:
- Definition drawings, 3D Equipment Modelling, Pipe Routing
- Line Sizing, Thickness Calculation, Pressure drop calculation.
- Piping drawings – Piping Isometrics, Piping Plan & Elevation, Details,
- MTOs/BOMs, NWD models, Clash checks, Vendor Drawing Review.
- Hands-on experience in Autodesk Revit MEP for piping modelling, routing, system creation, and coordinated drawing production.
- Ability to create and modify Revit piping families, connectors, parameters, schedules, tags, filters, and templates.
- Knowledge of BIM coordination workflows, linked models, worksharing, model health checks, clash detection, and issue resolution.
- Ability to review Revit models and drawings for design intent, constructability, maintainability, data completeness, and compliance with project standards.
- Working experience with 3D Design Tools: AutoCad Plant 3D. E3D, CAESAR II , Autopipe , Autodesk Revit MEP
Level Working Knowledge:
• Creates and modifies piping systems, equipment, fittings, accessories, and supports using appropriate Revit tools.
• Develops or updates Revit families, connectors, parameters, schedules, tags, filters, and view templates.
• Coordinates linked discipline models and supports clash detection and resolution using Revit and Navisworks.
• Checks model connectivity, routing, slopes, elevations, clearances, data quality, and drawing consistency.
• Generates coordinated piping plans, sections, elevations, details, schedules, and quantity outputs from the BIM model.
Degree Requirement
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from accredited Engineering Institute.
