CONTEXT
To strengthen the Richemont Group’s legal team based in Paris, we are seeking an intellectual property legal intern. In this role, you will provide comprehensive legal support on intellectual property matters to the Fondation Cartier, covering a wide range of intellectual property areas related to the contemporary art sector. You will work closely with the Fondation Cartier teams and your legal colleagues, enjoying a degree of autonomy within a collaborative environment.
HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?
1. Supporting the organization’s activities on intellectual property matters:
- Assist with providing clear and practical legal guidance on intellectual property matters, in line with the activities and priorities of Fondation Cartier’s various departments.
- Support the heritage, marketing, communications, production, collections and conservation teams in integrating intellectual property considerations into projects and decision-making.
- Participate in raising awareness of intellectual property by sharing best practices.
2. Contract management:
- Assist with drafting, reviewing and advising on a wide range of intellectual property agreements, including licences, assignments, image rights, publishing contracts, commissioning contracts for texts and other creative works, and similar agreements.
- Contribute to the review and negotiation of contracts in coordination with the Fondation Cartier teams.
3. Campaign approval:
- Support intellectual property compliance checks and assist with providing guidance on print materials and digital content
HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?
To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate a passion for intellectual property and the art sector, organizational and analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, rigour, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and work independently. You must thrive in collaborative environments, possess excellent communication skills and have significant experience in intellectual property law, particularly in literary and artistic property law and related rights. An interest in contemporary and performing arts is also an asset for this role.
- You have a legal background with a specialization in intellectual property, literary and artistic property, or art market law and taxation.
- You have initial experience within a legal department specializing in intellectual property or in a law firm;
- You are fluent in French and English (written and spoken);
- You are highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and keep track of cases
- You demonstrate a high level of professionalism and build strong working relationships
- You are able to work to deadlines and collaborate with relevant stakeholders
