Project Manager Technische Industriële Projecten (Freelance optional)

📋 Tasks and responsibilities

For a technical project environment at an industrial site in Olen, we are looking for a Project Manager who can oversee industrial projects from the initial assessment phase through execution and final transfer. The scope includes production facilities, infrastructure works and R&D-related initiatives.

You will be responsible for projects at different stages of maturity and ensure delivery in line with agreed scope, timing and stakeholder expectations.

• Determine scope, deliverables, budget and timing together with the relevant stakeholders.
• Set up, coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Oversee the technical design across the complete project scope.
• Prepare specifications and tender documents for contractors, engineering partners and other external parties.
• Support the selection of suppliers, engineering firms, contractors and specialist expertise.
• Direct and follow up internal and external project resources throughout the full lifecycle.
• Manage scope changes and convert approved modifications into the execution plan.
• Provide structured reporting on progress, risks and key decisions to stakeholders and management.

📝 Your profile

• You have 3 to 5 years of experience in end-to-end project management, from pre-study to implementation and handover.
• You have delivered at least 5 relevant assignments in a Project Manager role.
• You are familiar with established project management methods and planning techniques.
• You have experience with MS Project or a comparable planning tool.
• You have a technical background as an engineer or project engineer.
• You have broad technical knowledge covering disciplines such as mechanics, electricity, piping and civil works.
• You have knowledge of, or practical experience within, the process industry.
• You combine strong analytical ability with a broad helicopter view.
• You bring technical insight in areas such as electromechanics and chemistry.
• You communicate clearly and report in a structured and concise way.
• You are a collaborative team player who works effectively with stakeholders at different levels.
• You can guide and coach a team and are confident in challenging proposed solutions when needed.
• You ask the right questions and show a strong interest in technology, engineering and project management.
• You are fluent in Dutch and have a very good command of English.
• You hold a VCA-VOL certificate.
• You are available to work 100% onsite in Olen, with occasional travel abroad when required.

Interview process

The selection procedure consists of an initial interview via Teams, followed by an onsite interview including a site visit and case study.
