Description

Financial Markets (FM) is the Bank’s gateway to the professional markets around the world. Our primary function is to service the needs of ING’s clients with products, services and guidance. FM aims to be a significant player in our market leader and challenger markets, with an additional presence in all the major international markets and specialist expertise in selected emerging markets and products.

Your role & work environment

You will be part of the Developed Markets Rates trading team, with a primary focus on G10 cross-currency swaps. The team actively makes markets across rates products and currencies for corporate and institutional clients. You will manage XCCY risk, support pricing and liquidity provision, and contribute to the further build-out of ING’s DM Rates and XCCY franchise.

The G10 XCCY trading activity is part of the broader DM Rates trading set-up at ING, working closely with other Rates Traders, Sales, Treasury, Structuring, Quants, Risk and Technology. The role requires strong market-making discipline, a commercial mindset and the ability to operate in a fast-changing, complex trading environment.

Your key responsibilities

Servicing Sales and clients

  • Provide accurate, swift and commercially sound pricing in G10 cross-currency swaps and related rates products.
  • Build strong relationships with Sales, internal stakeholders and external clients to support franchise growth.
  • Contribute trade ideas and market colour across XCCY and other DM rates markets.

Managing market risks

  • Analyse trading books and manage XCCY basis, interest-rate and related risk positions while optimising revenues and staying within limits at all times.
  • Maintain a high focus on G10 XCCY, and other DM rates markets, including relative-value dynamics and issuance-driven flow.
  • Apply robust risk management, hedging discipline and transparent communication around positions, P&L and market developments.

Contributing to the build-out of the G10 XCCY activity

  • Cooperate with Quant, Technology and Risk teams to build and improve pricing, risk and analytics tools.
  • Use data analysis and automation to improve trading risk management, pricing quality and Sales-Trading workflow.
  • Bring experience and ideas from cross-currency swaps, to strengthen the desk’s broad product coverage.

We look for

A colleague with a talent for taking it on and making it happen, enthusiasm for helping others to be successful and a knack for always being a step ahead. In other words, you strive to bring fresh ideas to life and embrace challenges in a fast-changing and complex environment. You are naturally collaborative, listen actively and invest in others to achieve common goals. You like to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose practical, creative solutions.

As a Senior G10 XCCY Trader, you will also need:

  • A degree in finance, economics or a related quantitative field.
  • Relevant trading experience in G10 cross-currency swaps and other DM rates products.
  • A strong market-making mindset and a demonstrable trading track record.
  • Sound understanding of derivatives, risk modelling, hedging and the interaction between issuance, funding markets and cross-currency basis.
  • Excellent analytical skills and relevant coding or automation experience, preferably including Python.
  • Fluency in English
  • A genuine team-player attitude and clear, transparent communication with Sales, Trading, Risk and other stakeholders.

We offer you

A clear purpose, a unique offer and a range of flexible compensation and other benefits:

  • Personal growth and challenging work with opportunities to realise your ambitions.
  • An informal, dynamic environment with innovative colleagues supporting your endeavours.
  • A progressive and agile way of working, where new ideas are valued ahead of convention.

Furthermore, within the Rates trading department, you can count on opportunities to invest in your personal and professional growth with:

  • The possibility to participate in courses and trainings.
  • Challenging projects with Quants and colleagues from Sales and Trading.
  • The possibility to grow in the trading organisation.
