Position Summary:
MedLink Georgia is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) to join our Revenue Cycle team. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems, and will be responsible for ensuring accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures to support optimal reimbursement and compliance with federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:

Accurately code all diagnoses and procedures for medical encounters using ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

Review clinical documentation to ensure coding reflects the level of service provided.

Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and ensure coding accuracy.

Conduct audits and assist with coding compliance reviews.

Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations.

Support the billing department in resolving coding-related denials and claim issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist - Physician (CCS-P) or AAPC Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is required
- 12 months coding/chart review or related experience. Experience in podiatry or orthopedics (foot and ankle) strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of medical coding experience in a healthcare setting preferred.

Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.

Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
