NAYA Family Center is seeking an experienced, collaborative, and mission-driven Family Services Associate Director. This leadership role partners closely with the Director of Family Services to oversee a programs serving Urban Native children, youth, adults, Elders, and families across Oregon and Washington. As the Family Services Associate Director, you'll help ensure seamless, culturally responsive services across programs including domestic and sexual violence advocacy, foster care, independent living, early childhood education, home visiting, youth development, and services for Elders and Veterans. You'll provide operational leadership, support program managers, strengthen cross-program collaboration, oversee grant and budget compliance, and help shape the future of Family Services through strategic planning, community partnerships, and continuous program improvement.

This is a full-time, exempt position with general working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings and weekends, may be required. NAYA employees are expected to work primarily on-site, with the opportunity to work remotely 1–2 days per week following successful onboarding and with supervisor approval.


The annual pay range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000.


Who You Are

  • Ideally, you have knowledge of Native American history and experience working within diverse populations, including urban and reservation Native American communities.
  • You are an experienced leader who enjoys building strong teams, supporting managers, and helping programs work together to provide exceptional services for families.
  • You bring experience leading or supporting complex human services, nonprofit, or community-based programs and understand the balance between strategic leadership and day-to-day operations.
  • You have experience with program development, grant-funded services, budgeting, contract compliance, and performance management.
  • You understand the importance of culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based services and are committed to reducing barriers for Native children, youth, families, Elders, and community members.
  • You are skilled at developing collaborative relationships with community partners, funders, government agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • You communicate with professionalism, empathy, and clarity, and are comfortable navigating complex situations with sound judgment and emotional intelligence.
  • You are highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while supporting staff and maintaining high-quality program outcomes.
  • You are comfortable using Microsoft Office, database systems, virtual collaboration platforms, and other technology to support program administration and organizational effectiveness.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in Social Work or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant leadership experience will also be considered.


What You'll Do

  • Partner with the Family Services Director to provide operational leadership and strategic support across multiple Family Services programs.
  • Support program managers in delivering high-quality, culturally responsive services while promoting collaboration and seamless participant experiences across programs.
  • Assist with program budgeting, grant development, contract management, financial oversight, and compliance with federal, state, county, city, and foundation funding requirements.
  • Help recruit, onboard, coach, and support Family Services leaders and staff while fostering professional growth and organizational excellence.
  • Monitor program quality, data reporting, and contract performance to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with funders, Tribal partners, community organizations, and public agencies to expand resources and improve service delivery.
  • Lead outreach and advocacy efforts that increase awareness of Family Services programs and strengthen community partnerships.
  • Support the development of new programs, services, and initiatives that respond to evolving community needs.
  • Participate actively in organizational leadership, cross-department initiatives, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Family Services operations in the absence of the Family Services Director.
