Job Description:
- The General Sanitation Operator is responsible for ensuring optimum quality products through completing proper cleanup and sanitation tasks by following regulatory standards, ensuring the production/process areas are both clean and sterile. This position is designed to be a springboard path into maintenance.
Schedule:
M- Th 4a -2:30 pm, with overtime on Fridays as needed.
Pay:
$26.07/hour
Position Essential Responsibilities & Duties:
- Perform basic housekeeping to include cleaning floors, walls, ceiling, air vents, lights, etc., of the plant, and interior/exterior of all process equipment.
- Accomplish pre-operations check on all product contact surfaces.
- Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assisting in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).
- Complete and document duties as assigned.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area. Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Disassembly and assembly of food manufacturing equipment for the purpose of cleaning and sanitizing.
- Willing to learn core production functions and tasks.
- Be able to effectively work in a team environment as well as an individual contributor.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate degree and/or Technical School certification is preferred but not required. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.
- Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Basic computer skills - including but not limited to Microsoft office and Apple products.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment exams: video interview, personality exam, physical exam, mechanical aptitude exam.
Preferred:
- 3+ years' experience cleaning/maintaining manufacturing systems and equipment in an automated facility as well as training/experience with chemicals and sanitation processes/programs.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes.
- Ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions with a high level of detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to work in a wet environment with exposure to dairy, dust, fumes and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours (any hours, any days) including overtime, weekends and holidays.
- Willingness to learn and grow through experience and training.
- Experience within the food and beverage industry preferred.
Physical requirements:
- Ability to work 10+ hour shifts, lift 55+ pounds, stand, climb, and/or stoop for prolonged periods of time, perform repetitive motions, and work in an environment with varying degrees of temperatures and humidity.
