Research Scientist

A Research Scientist (RS) is a principal investigator, executing research projects self-reliantly with great autonomy, based on needs gathered from the business units. 

A RS is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and executing one or more research projects as a principal investigator in close cooperation with the relevant stakeholders in DRS's banners. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

• Self-reliantly run multiple research projects as a principal investigator with minimal supervision. 

• Understand the state of the art in the RS’s field of expertise and propose the direction of the projects to DRS’s stakeholders 

• Conduct research inspired by those problems. 

• Execute research and development projects and teams driving delivery of technology applications for Disney business. 

• Contribute and deliver in DRS’s strategic programs and projects. 

• Document research in internal reports, peer-reviewed publications, and patent applications. 

• Collaborate with the company’s businesses to commercialize research results. 

• World-class expert in the fields relevant to the research group. 

• PhD in field relevant to the area of research, typically computer science 

• Strong organizational skills. 

• Outstanding academic record including accepted papers at prime conferences relevant to the field.
