Description
Citi is looking for a Client Management Group Manager to lead a high-performing team of client specialists and senior managers, driving operational strategy and client outcomes across a complex, multi-layered function. In this senior leadership role, you will hold full accountability for a broad portfolio of client management operations — shaping policy, managing resources, and partnering with senior directors to deliver results with firm-wide impact. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical function at one of the world's leading global banks and make a measurable difference across both client relationships and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a large team of Client Specialists, Managers, and Senior Managers, setting clear performance expectations and delivering regular evaluations, compensation recommendations, and personnel decisions.
- Partner with senior directors to shape and execute strategic plans across the client management function, translating business priorities into clear operational direction.
- Take full accountability for end-to-end area outcomes, including budget management, resource planning, policy formulation, and delivery performance.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships within client organizations, serving as a trusted escalation point for complex issues requiring senior judgment.
- Identify and resolve high-impact, variable issues by applying deep functional knowledge and drawing on a wide range of internal and external information sources.
- Define and uphold operational standards across the team, ensuring all procedures are consistently followed and continuously improved.
- Assess risk in business decisions with rigorous attention to regulatory compliance, ethical conduct, and the protection of client and firm interests, escalating control issues with transparency.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- 10 or more years of relevant experience in financial markets, with a demonstrated ability to operate at a senior leadership level within complex organizational environments.
- Proven ability to lead large, multi-layered operations teams of 40 or more people — including senior manager layers — while maintaining high performance and clear accountability across the function.
- Experience designing and delivering operational strategies and driving significant organizational change within a fast-paced, large-scale global financial firm.
- Demonstrated success building and leading high-performing teams across a regional footprint, consistently delivering exceptional results through people development and effective team structures.
- Solid background managing operational budgets, monitoring financial metrics, and aligning resource allocation to business priorities.
- Advanced advisory and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust with clients and senior leaders, evaluate complex needs, and develop tailored solutions.
- Exceptional capability to navigate complex organizational structures, build consensus across functions, and influence senior stakeholders to drive outcomes.
- Full professional fluency in English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to perform under pressure and to competing deadlines.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- A Master's degree in a relevant field is preferred, complementing the required bachelor's or university degree.
- Experience operating as a trusted escalation point for both internal business leaders and external clients across complex, cross-functional scenarios.
- Analytical and problem-solving capability in situations requiring independent judgment, interpretive thinking, and a high level of personal integrity.
