Description
This position is part-time and is expected to work no more than 26 hours per week.
The Grounds Maintenance Worker - reports to the Parks Field Supervisor. The primary job duties of this position include:
- Performs turf maintenance cultural practices utilizing motorized equipment.
- Performs mowing, trimming, weeding, planting, cultivation, fertilization, watering and pruning operations
- Performs general landscape and cleanup duties, including trash and debris removal, graffiti removal and litter pickup.

- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
- Six months previous experience and/or training in grounds maintenance, athletic field maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, equipment operation, and manual labor.
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
- Valid Arizona Driver License
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations and/or ordinances
- Skill in equipment operation including multi and single deck mowers, utility vehicles, tractors and attachments including aerators, gannons, top dresser, vacuum, rotiller, etc.
- Skill in power tool operation including chainsaw, polesaw, stump grinder, auger, jackhammer, hedge trimmer, etc.
- Skill in cleaning and maintenance of facilities
- Skill in working in a team environment and have customer service skills
This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt – eligible for overtime compensation.
