Job Summary:
The Plumber plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing plumbing systems across Xanterra facilities in Yellowstone National Park. This position ensures the safe operation of water, sewer, and fuel systems, contributing to the comfort and safety of guests and staff while supporting sustainability initiatives.
The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: December 2026 - March 2027Pay: $23.70/hour - $24.35/hourSchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment for seasonal opening/closing and ongoing operations.
- Conduct plumbing assessments, preventative maintenance, and repair/replacement of fittings and systems.
- Document and track work using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and work order logs.
- Safely utilize appropriate tools and materials to complete work orders efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and cooperative work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other departments, demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.
- Work independently with minimal supervision; flexibility to work overtime or nights as needed.
Qualifications
Plumber II
- 0–2 years of plumbing experience (apprentice or equivalent hands-on training).
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems, fixtures, and tools.
- Ability to perform simple repairs and assist with installations under supervision.
- Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and adhere to safety and sustainability programs.
- Ability to learn new skills quickly and adapt to changing procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA safety regulations.
- Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
Plumber I
- Minimum 2 years of plumbing experience in maintenance or construction.
- Valid plumbing license preferred.
- OSHA compliance knowledge and PPE usage.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing water, sewer, and fuel systems.
- Skilled in pipe threading, soldering, pro-press, and acetylene welding.
- Ability to read and interpret plumbing codes, drawings, and plans.
- Competent in using CMMS for work order tracking.
- Ability to mentor and train junior staff.
Physical Requirements include:
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevations above 6,000 ft.
- Walk up to 0.5 miles over uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs; perform heavy labor outdoors in varying weather.
- Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
