This is a transitional role for individuals pursuing Pharmacy Technician Registration with the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy. Under the direct and immediate personal supervision of a licensed pharmacist, the trainee will assist in various pharmacy activities, including medication preparation, inventory management, while simultaneously completing a Board-approved training program.Job Description
Job Duties
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of the healthcare system.
- Assists in the preparation and distribution of medications under the direct oversight of a pharmacist.
- Performs data entry and prescription processing in accordance with state privacy and safety standards.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory and assist with operating automation and/or restock and manage automated dispensing cabinets and floorstock.
- Assists with restocking, maintaining, and monitoring automated dispensing cabinets, as applicable.
- Assists with medication deliveries to patient care areas.
- Supports medication recalls, expired medication removal, and diversion prevention activities.
- Adheres to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to identify priorities and adjust work habits to address them.
- Interpersonal communication skills (both written and oral) are required to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate organizational skills and ability to keep accurate, orderly records.
- Proficiency in mathematics.
- RPTT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Trainee - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire and
- RPT - Registered Pharmacy Technician - State of Pennsylvania Within 2 Years
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 year of Pharmacy experience.
- Working knowledge of common software applications (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
