A leading international organisation within the transportation and logistics sector is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and grow its country operations. This is a senior leadership opportunity with full responsibility for commercial performance, operational excellence, strategic execution, and team leadership across a multi-market environment.

 

The Role

Reporting into regional leadership, you will be responsible for driving profitability, business growth, operational efficiency, and governance across the organisation's local operations. You will lead commercial and operational teams while ensuring financial performance and delivering on ambitious growth objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Lead all commercial, customer service, and operational activities to maximise business performance

·       Drive revenue growth, profitability, and agency income through effective business planning and execution

·       Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and operational standards

·       Lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams while building a strong talent pipeline

·       Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, tax, labour, and governance requirements

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders

 

What you will bring:

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Significant leadership experience within the container shipping, liner shipping, maritime, logistics

·       Proven track record of managing P&L responsibility and delivering commercial growth

·       Strong understanding of operational management, equipment utilisation, ports, terminals, and supply chain operations

·       Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

·       Able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
