Overview
Position will involve maintenance of outside grounds including maintenance of lawns, shrubs, irrigation system, flower beds, and lawn equipment; and general building/maintenance repairs.
Responsibilities
Position will involve maintenance of outside grounds including maintenance of lawns, shrubs, irrigation system, flower beds, and lawn equipment; and general building/maintenance repairs by performing the following duties:
- Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns;
- Weed and mulch landscapes;
- Trim hedges, shrubs, and small trees;
- Remove dead, damaged or unwated trees;
- Seasonal work may include but is not limited to Christmas lights, washing windows, snow removal, salting sidewalks and/or pavement, mowing, trimming and yard waste removal;
- May be required to climb and work off of a ladder;
- Building maintenance repairs duties to include: painting, sheetrock repairs, floor and ceiling repairs, Building PM tasks, and assisting Facility Maintenance Tech as needed on other jobs.
Performs related work as required.
Part time position - 2 to 3 days per week.
Qualifications
Knowledge
Grounds and building maintenance knowledge is a plus. Also understanding how to use and operate lawn care equipment is required. Painting, sheetrock, and general building maintenance knowledge and experience is a plus.
Abilities
Must have a strong work history. The work can be repetitive and physically demanding. Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisor and co-workers. Must be able to work independently and also part of a team environment.
Experience, Education, and Training
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements
This position requires constant standing, walking, forward reaching, pedal control and grasping; frequent head turning, bending, kneeling, stooping, squatting, handling, climbing and reaching. Candidate must be able to lift and carry 50lbs and also push and pull a push mower seasonally.
Working Environment
Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and chemical odors.
Licensing/Certification
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to and from work, must be able to operate a forklift.
