Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Resident Construction Engineer - Architect to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for managing both administrative and site-based construction monitoring activities, while providing technical oversight to ensure the project is delivered in accordance with the approved design, budget, schedule, quality standards, safety and environmental requirements, and contractual obligations.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Monitor multiple contracts and the associated architectural field activities of construction contractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, including scope of work, procedures, cost, schedule, installation, and quality.
Oversee architectural elements such as:
- Building facades and envelope systems,
- Exterior and Interior finishes and fit-outs,
- Architectural detailing and aesthetics,
- Accessibility and code compliance,
- Coordination of architectural elements with structural, MEP, and landscape systems.Implement and adhere to the QA/QC Program, safety regulations, environmental requirements, and specifications during work activities.
Provide technical clarifications and guidance to contractors regarding schedule, procedures, scope of work, and other information requirements.
Plan, organize, monitor, and follow up on contractors’ activities. Supervise the contractor’s work to ensure that site operations are effectively executed, and that all required inspections are properly conducted and documented.
Develop a professional working relationship with contractors. Provide technical guidance in interpretation of contract documents and specifications. Participate in progress, risk and close out activities as assigned.
Review job plans, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans, pre qualifications, architectural material submittals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings submitted by contractors for compliance with contract requirements. Obtain Engineering review and approval. Identify and report discrepancies in original design or contract documents requiring modifications.
Coordinate with other departments and third parties to obtain required support and/or approvals. Detect and resolve conflicts in schedules, specifications, coordinate interfaces between architectural and other disciplines.
Recommend approval of schedule changes in construction activities where required.
Compile technical data to prepare weekly and monthly reports on project progress, cost, and quality control. Conduct or direct investigations and advise SRCE and SRCM of issues affecting schedule or quality.
Assist SRCE and SRCM in administrative functions and initiate correspondence (draft letters/reports) to contractors and other departments for SRCM’s signature.
Review and validate billing items submitted in Work Estimates, confirm actual progress, determine work completion percentages, and recommend payments accordingly.
Assist in compiling documentation and evaluating claims, changes or delays related to architectural works.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
Minimum 5 years of post-graduation experience with strong site inspection and construction management skills in architectural works.
Solid understanding of architectural design principles, building materials, and construction detailing.
Knowledge of international building codes (IBC, UBC), ADA standards, and local regulatory requirements.
Fluent in spoken and written English; ability to produce clear technical documentation and reports.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications, and document-management systems.
Must be able to obtain a Saudi Driving License.
