  • Keyera’s Northern Allowance is a tiered incentive program based on years of service, currently offered to employees working at the following locations: Grande Prairie Office, Wapiti, Simonette, Gold Creek, South Cheecham, and Fox Creek Terminal. THE POSITION

The Turnaround Advisor provides independent oversight, governance, and assurance support for turnaround activities across Keyera's operating assets. The role is accountable for assessing compliance with established turnaround standards, readiness requirements, stage-gate criteria, and governance processes. Working closely with site turnaround teams, operations, maintenance, engineering, and project stakeholders, the Advisor monitors planning and execution performance, identifies risks and gaps, facilitates corrective actions, and supports continuous improvement through lessons learned and benchmarking. This position serves as a trusted advisor to site teams and leadership, providing objective assurance that turnarounds are being planned and executed in accordance with enterprise expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate Keyera’s Values & Cultural Behaviors.
  • Leverage and employ Keyera’s Operational Excellence Management System.
  • Assess turnaround readiness and compliance with corporate standards, governance requirements, and stage-gate criteria.
  • Conduct assurance reviews of turnaround scope, schedule, cost, risk, and execution plans.
  • Coach and help turnaround teams in the application of the TDS and work packaging.
  • Monitor implementation of approved turnaround processes and tools across operating sites.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support leadership reporting, readiness reviews, and governance decision-making.
  • Facilitate the capture and application of lessons learned and best practices across the turnaround portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Technical, Project Management, or a related discipline; PMP or equivalent designation is an asset.
  • 8–15 years of experience in turnaround, maintenance, operations, engineering, project controls, or project delivery environments.

  • Working knowledge of turnaround planning, scheduling, cost management, risk management, and governance processes.

  • Previous experience with project management software.

  • Experience participating in readiness reviews, audits, stage-gate reviews, or assurance activities is preferred.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.

  • Proficiency with turnaround planning, scheduling, and reporting tools.

  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Suite with emphasis in Microsoft Excel (ability to build reports, tables etc.)

  • Experience with CMMS (Maximo) and scheduling software is a strong asset.
