Construction Project Manager – Stairs | Brooklyn, NY · $100,000
About the Role A well-established, high-volume stair fabrication and installation company is looking for a Project Manager to own the client experience from first measurement to final installation. This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who thrives managing multiple projects at once, enjoys the mix of fieldwork and design, and wants real ownership over the jobs they run. The company works with some of the top general contractors and builders in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Site Management
- Visit job sites to take precise measurements and consult with clients, designers, and architects
- Guide clients through design options, materials, and configurations (spiral, glass railings, custom finishes, etc.)
Design & Documentation
- Draw up plans and specifications (CAD) based on site visits and client conversations
- Revise drawings as needed based on client and designer feedback until final approval
- Prepare clear, accurate paperwork to hand off to the production shop
Project Oversight
- Track projects from initial site visit through shop production to final installation
- Coordinate with the shop and installation crews to ensure jobs run on schedule
- Oversee installations to confirm the finished product matches what was agreed upon with the client
Qualifications
- Background in construction, kitchens, millwork, framing, windows, or a related trade that involves reading measurements and plans
- Comfortable using CAD
- Strong communication and client relations skills; comfortable guiding and occasionally pushing clients toward decisions
- Highly organized with the patience to manage multiple rounds of design revisions
- Reliable and able to split time between the field and the office
- Own vehicle required
- Flexible schedule to accommodate client availability outside standard business hours when needed
