Description
At H1, we believe access to the best healthcare information is a basic human right. Our mission is to provide a platform that can optimally inform every doctor interaction globally. This promotes health equity and builds needed trust in healthcare systems. To accomplish this our teams harness the power of data and AI-technology to unlock groundbreaking medical insights and convert those insights into action that result in optimal patient outcomes and accelerates an equitable and inclusive drug development lifecycle. Visit h1.co to learn more about us.
Product Engineering plays a pivotal role in developing and delivering our consumer-facing applications. Our team processes data from upstream sources, constructs robust data pipelines to ensure information remains current, and transforms this data for downstream use, providing our users with actionable, exportable insights. Our applications serve as gateways to our extensive knowledge base, which includes millions of healthcare professional profiles and their affiliations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO AT H1
As a Sr. Product Engineer on the Search and Insights Engineering team, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and evolving the H1 Knowledge Graph and Search platform. You will own the technical direction of our customer-facing platform — driving architecture decisions, defining standards, and leading critical business features impacting the product and users.
You will:
- Own the full lifecycle of platform features design and development — from problem definition and schema modeling through implementation, versioned rollout, and deprecation planning- Lead Search and Knowledge graph Platform evolution efforts to reduce redundancy, optimize payload size, and improve usability.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear technical specifications and well-scoped Jira tickets, while remaining hands-on in the codebase
- Own and evolve data pipelines and transformation workflows that support Search and Knowledge graph Platform.
- Define and implement scalable integration patterns (Search and Knowledge graph Platforms) to support internal and external data exchange
- Drive system performance and scalability improvements as data volume and product complexity grow
- Lead troubleshooting of complex system and data issues, establishing best practices across reliability, observability, testing, and data quality- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with governance and regulatory standards
- Mentor engineers and elevate technical standards across the team
- Leverage AI-first development practices (e.g., Claude, Copilot) to improve speed and quality of engineering output
ABOUT YOU
As a Sr.Product Engineer, you are a self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and takes ownership across systems and projects. You bring deep expertise in Search and Knowledge graph Platform design, data engineering, and distributed systems, along with the ability to influence technical direction and drive alignment across teams.
You excel at balancing hands-on development with technical leadership and are comfortable owning initiatives from concept through production and iteration.
- You write clean, maintainable, and scalable code, and set a high bar for engineering quality
- You have strong experience diagnosing complex system and data issues and driving improvements
- You have deep experience designing and evolving Elastic Search and Knowledge graph Platforms.
- You are comfortable authoring technical design documents and aligning cross-functional stakeholders
- You effectively influence architecture decisions and collaborate across engineering, product, and customer-facing teams
REQUIREMENTS
