Description
Caring Transitions of Great Neck helps elderly clients and their families through some of life's most significant transitions — downsizing from a long-time home, resettling into a new one, or clearing out a home after the loss of a loved one. We manage relocations, conduct online auctions and estate sales, and perform compassionate, professional clean-outs. We serve clients in and around Great Neck, Queens, and surrounding areas.
We're part of Caring Transitions, a national franchise with over 400 locations and the largest senior relocation company in the country. Our Great Neck team is small, hands-on, and genuinely proud of the work we do.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Sorting and organizing client’s household belongings for packing, moving, selling, donation or disposal.
- Online auction or estate sale preparation and setup
- Packing/boxing household items to be moved
- Unpacking and resettling clients in their new home
- Moving supplies/boxes within the customers’ homes
- Light cleaning including sweeping and vacuuming
- Interacting with customers and their families
Hours: Part-time, variable hours Monday-Friday and occasionally Saturdays. Shifts are generally from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no guarantee of work. Shifts become available as jobs are sold.
Plusses+:
- We reduce our client’s stress levels in otherwise highly stressful times

- Must agree to background and driving record checks
- Excellent attention to detail
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Must be able to safely and repeatedly lift up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks such as bending, reaching, and climbing stairs.
- Must have a smartphone (for scheduling, time-keeping, project management and processing auction items)
What we look for in a candidate:
- Patience, empathy and compassion – we work with a vulnerable clientele who are going through difficult times
- Maturity; life experience
- Comfortable speaking with people
- Self-motivation and willingness to learn
- A team player; works well with, and collaborates with others
- Reliability, punctuality and integrity
