Position Summary
Limestone Rooftop at Cambria Hotel Downtown Austin is seeking an energetic and service-focused PM Server to join our Food & Beverage team. This position is responsible for providing exceptional dinner and evening dining service in a fast-paced, high-volume rooftop restaurant and bar environment.
The ideal candidate is friendly, attentive, dependable, and able to confidently manage multiple tables while maintaining a high level of hospitality and accuracy. The PM Server will create memorable guest experiences by anticipating guest needs, providing knowledgeable and timely service, and ensuring each guest leaves with a positive impression of Limestone Rooftop and Cambria Downtown Austin.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to guests throughout their dining experience.
- Greet guests promptly, present menus, and provide knowledgeable information about food, beverages, and daily specials.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Ensure orders are delivered accurately, efficiently, and according to established service standards.
- Monitor guest needs throughout the meal and provide timely refills, additional items, and other requested services.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, allergens, and beverage offerings.
- Make appropriate recommendations and promote food and beverage offerings when applicable.
- Check on guests regularly to ensure satisfaction and address concerns promptly and professionally.
- Process guest checks and payments accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain assigned tables and service areas in a clean, organized, and presentable condition.
- Assist with opening, closing, and side-work duties as assigned.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, alcohol service, and hotel operating standards.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, host, and management teams to ensure smooth service.
- Assist fellow team members as needed and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
- Respond appropriately to guest concerns and notify management when additional assistance is needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow established grooming and uniform standards.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience in a restaurant, hotel, bar, or high-volume hospitality environment preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple tables while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service practices.
- Ability to accurately handle cash, credit card transactions, and POS systems.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other high-volume business periods as required.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- TABC certification and Food Handler certification, if required, or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to carry and safely transport food, beverages, trays, and other service items.
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and carry items as needed to perform essential job duties.
- Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced restaurant and rooftop environment.
