Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

Job Purpose:   

The Senior Academy Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the creation, coordination and ongoing development of the Academy. Working closely with the Academy Manager, the postholder will provide high-quality project coordination, administration and stakeholder support to ensure Academy activity is well planned, efficiently delivered and aligned to organisational priorities. The role will support the coordination of internal and external learning opportunities, help maximise access to Learning and Development Support Scheme funding, manage enquiries, organise meetings and maintain effective systems, records and communications. The postholder will also support the Trust with the rollout of the Care Workforce Pathway programme, helping to coordinate activity that promotes clear career pathways, consistent development opportunities and alignment with national adult social care workforce expectations. 

Key Outcomes/Results:  

  • Support the Academy Manager with planning, organising and monitoring Academy workstreams, ensuring deadlines are met and key actions are followed up. 

  • Coordinate external training activity, including liaising with training providers, sourcing course information, arranging bookings, monitoring attendance and ensuring records are accurate and up to date. 

  • Support the identification, administration and tracking of eligible Learning and Development Support Scheme funding claims, ensuring evidence, timescales and documentation are maintained in line with scheme requirements. 

  • Support the Trust with the rollout of the Care Workforce Pathway programme, including coordinating implementation activity, maintaining rollout plans, supporting communication with services and tracking progress against agreed milestones. 

  • Organise key stakeholder meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas, circulating papers, taking notes and tracking actions. 

  • Maintain accurate learning, funding and project records, ensuring information is stored securely and can be used to support reporting, evaluation and audit requirements. 

  • Prepare reports, presentations, correspondence and briefing documents to support Academy planning, governance and decision-making. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

Essential: 

  • Strong project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and workstreams. 

  • Experience of coordinating training, learning and development activity or similar programmes. 

  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, with strong attention to detail. 

  • Excellent IT skills, including confident use of Microsoft Office applications, digital systems, spreadsheets, databases and reporting tools. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with colleagues, managers, external training providers and stakeholders. 

  • Ability to manage enquiries effectively, provide clear information and maintain a responsive, customer-focused approach. 

  • Experience of arranging meetings, preparing agendas, taking notes and tracking actions. 

  • Ability to maintain accurate records and handle information confidentially and securely. 

  • Confidence to work independently, use initiative and escalate issues appropriately. 

Desirable: 

  • Experience working in adult social care, health care, education, training or workforce development. 

  • Knowledge of the Learning and Development Support Scheme and adult social care workforce funding routes. 

  • Experience supporting funding claims, evidence gathering, compliance processes or audit requirements. 

  • Experience of working with a range of external stakeholders such as training providers, schools, colleges, local authorities, commissioners or sector partners.

Salary Ranges:
