THE OPPORTUNITY
RS is seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Lead to provide day-to-day technical leadership and support for our maintenance team within a manufacturing environment. In this role, you will lead complex maintenance work, coordinate daily priorities, and serve as a key resource for troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
This position is ideal for a highly skilled maintenance professional who enjoys remaining hands-on while guiding and supporting technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Lead daily maintenance activities to support safe and efficient production operations
- Serve as the primary technical resource for advanced troubleshooting and complex equipment repairs
- Coordinate work assignments, prioritize maintenance requests, and support shift execution
- Perform preventive maintenance and oversee repairs on critical mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Support equipment reliability improvements and participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor, train, and support the development of maintenance technicians across all progression levels
- Ensure maintenance work is completed to quality standards and in compliance with safety procedures
- Assist with diagnosing recurring equipment issues and recommending corrective actions
- Support work order execution and documentation in the maintenance management system
- Communicate effectively with production, engineering, and leadership teams regarding equipment status and downtime
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure Lockout/Tagout and safe work practices are consistently followed
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience level will be aligned with demonstrated skill and the appropriate technician level within our Maintenance Progression System.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred
- 8 + years of industrial maintenance experience, including 2–4+ years of experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating maintenance activities.
- Advanced expertise in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of pumps, drive systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, and welding practices
- Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot electrical issues, including motors, circuits, and basic power diagnostics; complete intermediate to advanced welding and repair work as required to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrate strong technical competence while mentoring others, communicate effectively, make sound decisions, solve problems efficiently, adapt with a continuous improvement mindset, act with accountability and integrity, and lead with effective conflict-resolution skills.

- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work safely in the assigned work environment.
