Description
- Functional Assessment: Evaluate patient baseline status using formal testing measures to determine skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular function.
- Plan of Care Development: Formulate individualized, goal-specific treatment regimes based on assessment findings, physician orders, and patient tolerance.
- Physician Collaboration: Submit written treatment plans for physician approval, update plans of care to reflect functional progress, and co-sign clinical notes or verbal orders received by PTAs.
- Direct Intervention: Deliver specialized manual therapy, therapeutic exercise protocols, modality applications, and neuromuscular re-education tailored to patient needs.
- Team Delegation: Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and therapy aides, ensuring treatment activities align with governing clinical standards and facility policy.
- Patient & Family Education: Educate patients, families, and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, exercise rationale, home management programs, and preventive techniques.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT or Master's in Physical Therapy) [Required].
- State Licensure: Active, unrestricted State Physical Therapist (PT) License [Required].
- Life Support Certification: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
- Outpatient Experience: Demonstrated experience in an outpatient orthopedic/rehabilitation clinic setting [Required].
- Clinical Supervision: Proven ability to delegate appropriately and collaborate effectively with PTAs and clinical support personnel.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary physician reporting.
- Setting: Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic.
- Role Type: Full-Time Contract / Travel Assignment.
