Job Summary:
This role provides comprehensive payroll support, including managing payroll systems, updating and maintaining employee records, handling payroll queries and discrepancies, and processing payroll transactions, while ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with organizational policies. The position also requires collaboration with other departments, attending training, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason Dates: Early December 2026 - Mid November 2027Pay: $2,340.00/Bi-weeklySchedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
- Assist the Manager Payroll/Analyst in all areas of department responsibilities, assuming responsibilities in their absence.
- Work closely with Human Resources to ensure employees are set up with accurate housing, board, medical and tax deductions and pay rates. Process timely updates as needed.
- Ability to set up, run and balance all necessary reports related to the payroll function.
- Assist in accurate but timely review of time records for processing, editing and finalizing the payroll run.
- Maintain payroll reference materials and tables with the most up to date information.
- Develop a thorough knowledge of Dayforce and CloudSuite and work with staff to resolve problems.
- Research and resolve employee pay, housing, tax and deposit issues quickly.
- Assist with sorting and distributing checks in accordance with the biweekly payroll schedule to ensure timely distribution of checks to employees at distanced locations
- Provide payroll training for Yellowstone departmental support staff as needed.
- Foster teamwork between staff members assisting with tasks as needed.
- Make independent decisions about payroll issues prescribed by Xanterra Parks & Resorts in Yellowstone.
- Provide labor reporting to Departments and Directors.
- Research payroll records for outside agencies including social security and unemployment as needed.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Attend required training courses.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies.
- High level of attention to detail and strong emphasis on accuracy.
- Confidential handling of work issues as well as all areas of the General Accounting Office.
- Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while on duty and in dealing with employees, guests and vendors.
- Responsible for understanding and complying with all Xanterra and Yellowstone National Park Lodges hospitality standards, procedures, and policies.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve the efficiency of department operations.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and help other departments as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Accounting degree and/or related work experience.
- Accuracy, speed and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Motivational, organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Experience with Excel, Word, Adobe and Outlook.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record for the last 3 years.
Preferred:
- Experience in a hospitality environment.
- Experience with Dayforce and CloudSuite.
- Knowledge of Yellowstone procedures and policies.
- Knowledge of company structure and policies helpful.
Physical Requirements include:
- Must be able to work most of the time sitting at a desk.
- Walking, standing and bending are required.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work at elevations of more than 7700 feet.
