Description
The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) is a new interdisciplinary school at NTU, inaugurated in August 2022. Our school hosts world-class education and research programs in organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, and bioengineering. We aim to nurture future-ready researchers with the ability to tackle new challenges in chemicals manufacturing, healthcare, energy, food, and other important sectors.
This position is responsible for aiding the development of new synthetic methods in the lab of Asst Prof Phillip Grant, which aim to improve the efficiency of organic synthesis.
Key Responsibilities:
Synthetic research in organic synthesis of small molecule drug-like compounds
Characterization of organic compounds
Development of new methods to synthesise drug-like compounds
Maintenance of key instruments
Contribution to lab duties; e.g., purchase of chemicals
Drafting reports and papers
Job Requirements:
A PhD in organic chemistry.
Prior experience in synthetic methods development and/or target oriented synthesis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports, present findings, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience in reaction optimization.
