The Opportunity

We're looking for a Summer Intern to join our AI Centre of Excellence team in Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland on a fixed-term basis commencing in November 2026.

This role helps accelerate the adoption and delivery of AI across PwC New Zealand by supporting the development of practical AI solutions, including AI agents and low-code tools that automate processes, improve ways of working, and enhance how we deliver for clients.

Through a player-coach mindset, the team also supports AI capability uplift across the firm by enabling knowledge sharing, supporting adoption and embedding AI into the way our people work across Advisory, Tax, Legal and Assurance.

What you'll do

  • Work alongside the AI CoE and teams across the firm to help identify opportunities where AI can solve real business challenges.

  • Support the design, build, testing and deployment of AI agents and low-code solutions from concept through to production.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, data and business teams to contribute to practical, scalable and responsible AI solutions.

  • Assist with AI adoption through demos, user support, and knowledge sharing.

  • Improve solutions by troubleshooting issues, incorporating feedback and developing reusable assets.

What you'll bring

  • Working towards, or recently completed, a qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • A strong interest in AI, automation, low-code development and emerging technologies, demonstrated through study, projects, internships or work experience.

  • The ability to translate ideas into practical technical solutions, with strong analytical skills and a curious, growth-oriented mindset.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

  • Exposure to, or interest in, AI tools, low-code platforms, automation or prototyping technologies, such as M365, Copilot Studio, Claude Code, ChatGPT/Codex, APIs or workflow automation tools.

  • An understanding of responsible AI principles, or a willingness to learn how to apply emerging technology in a thoughtful, practical way.

  • Exposure to professional services, client-facing work or technology-enabled business transformation would be an advantage. Legal working rights in New Zealand at the time of application.

If you don’t meet every requirement, we still want to hear from you - your skills and potential may be a great fit.

Before you apply, please ensure you have your latest CV and academic transcript ready.

Eligibility: Applications are open to New Zealand and Australian citizens and permanent residents. Candidates on student or work visas may only apply for roles within our Audit, Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT), and Internal Audit & GRC teams, provided they meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
