Senior GUI Developer

A Senior UI Developer at the C11 level is expected to be a highly skilled and experienced professional who can lead the technical aspects of user interface development. They are responsible for not only writing high-quality code but also for mentoring junior developers, making architectural decisions, and ensuring the successful delivery of complex projects.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code
• Consult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems
• Apply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.
• Analyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging
• Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made

Technology Skills Required:

Core Frontend Development

• JavaScript Expertise: Deep understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), including concepts like closures, asynchronous programming (Promises, async/await), and functional programming.
• Single Page Applications (SPA): Proven experience in building complex, scalable, and performant single-page applications using modern frameworks like Angular or React.
• State Management: Proficiency in managing application state with libraries like RxJS for Angular or Redux/Context API for React, ensuring data consistency and a predictable state container.
• UI/UX & Performance: A strong ability to debug, tune, and optimize UI components for responsiveness and speed.
• Routing: Expertise in designing and implementing client-side routing to create seamless and intuitive user navigation within the application.
• Designing: Ability to make CSS changes

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Unit Testing: Strong knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as Jest, Jasmine, or Karma to ensure code reliability and maintainability.
• End-to-End Testing: Ability to write and maintain robust automation tests using tools like Playright, Cypress or Selenium.

Backend Integration & Services

• API Integration: Solid experience integrating with RESTful APIs and a strong understanding of the request/response lifecycle.
• Backend Familiarity: Foundational knowledge of backend Java spring boot technologies is a plus
• Database Knowledge: Experience with any SQL or NoSQL databases (e.g., Oracle, Sybase, MongoDB) is beneficial.
• Messaging Systems: Exposure to messaging technologies like JMS or Solace is an added advantage.

DevOps, Tooling, and Architecture

• Version Control: Proficiency with Git for managing code versions, branching strategies, and collaborative development.
• CI/CD: Experience working in a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment with tools like TeamCity, Jenkins
• Code Quality: Familiarity with code quality and security scanning tools such as SonarLint, Blackduck, Snyk etc.
• Application Servers: Knowledge of application or web servers like WebLogic and/or Tomcat.
• Architectural Principles: Proficient in industry-standard best practices, including Design Patterns, modular coding, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

Qualifications:

• 5-7 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
• Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
