Description
Location: Nigeria (52/21 rotation)
A leading organisation in the oil & gas logistics sector is seeking a Port Manager to oversee port operations and drive performance across a critical maritime facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will take full responsibility for day-to-day port operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient cargo handling. As Port Manager, you will play a key role in optimising operational performance, managing teams on the ground, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
What You'll Be Doing

Oversee end-to-end port operations, ensuring safe and efficient handling of cargo, vessels, and equipment

Coordinate closely with logistics, operations, and safety teams to maintain compliance with local and international regulations

Monitor and drive port performance, KPIs, and cost efficiency, identifying and implementing operational improvements

Prepare and deliver monthly operational reports to senior management

Lead, manage, and develop port teams, ensuring high standards of performance and capability

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities, resolving operational challenges effectively

Support risk management and incident reporting, ensuring a strong safety culture across operations
Who You Are

You hold a degree in Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field

You bring 8–10 years’ experience in port or maritime operations, ideally within oil & gas logistics

You have strong expertise in operational planning, safety management, and regulatory compliance

You are an effective people leader, able to manage teams and drive operational performance on the ground

You demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills

You are comfortable working in a dynamic operational environment with a focus on efficiency and safety
