Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide respiratory treatments and clinical support to residents with temporary or chronic pulmonary conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and treating residents with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions
- Performing diagnostic testing and monitoring respiratory status
- Administering respiratory therapies and treatments as ordered
- Developing, updating, and maintaining respiratory care plans
- Monitoring oxygen therapy, breathing treatments, and respiratory equipment
- Collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality resident care
- Educating residents and caregivers on respiratory care and treatment plans
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and compliance with facility policies
Requirements
Respiratory Therapist Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Current Respiratory Therapist license/certification in the State of Illinois
- Knowledge of respiratory care practices, physiology, and pulmonary treatments
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Minimum of 1 year of long-term care experience preferred
