Group Fitness Instructor for Prenatal and Postpartum Exercise Studio
Location: Pennington, NJ
Part-Time | Potential to Grow
About Us:
At Herself Maternal Wellness & Fitness, we are passionate about supporting women through every stage of life with safe, functional, and empowering movement. We specialize in prenatal, postpartum, and pelvic health fitness, offering low-impact, strength-based group classes that help women feel strong, confident, and connected to their bodies.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Prenatal and Postpartum Exercise Specialist (or experienced Group Fitness Trainer) to lead small-group fitness classes for our pregnant and postpartum clients. A background in women’s fitness or pelvic health is highly desirable, but not required — we’re willing to train the right person with strong group coaching experience.
Responsibilities:
Lead low-impact strength and cardio classes with a focus on proper form, safe core engagement, and overall functional fitness.
Modify movements for various stages of pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
Provide coaching and encouragement that is supportive, empowering, and aligned with our brand’s focus on holistic women’s wellness.
Assist in designing or adapting workouts to meet the unique needs of the pregnant and postpartum population.
Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment in every class.
Qualifications:
Previous experience leading group fitness classes (required).
Certification in Personal Training or Group Fitness Instruction (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, or similar).
A specialty certification in Prenatal/Postpartum fitness or pelvic health is a plus, but not required — willingness to learn is most important.
Strong understanding of low-impact strength training, cardio, and core-safe movements.
Ability to communicate clearly, motivate clients, and create a positive class experience.
CPR/AED certified (or willing to obtain).
Bonus if you:
Have experience working with the pregnant or postpartum population.
Have a background in women’s wellness, physical therapy, or pelvic health education.
Are passionate about helping women feel strong and confident at every stage of life.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate based on experience and certifications.
Opportunities for growth, continuing education, and adding private or small group sessions.
How to Apply:
Please send your resume, a short introduction about why you’re excited about this opportunity, and any relevant certifications to [email protected].
