What You'll Be Doing

Responsibilities vary by position but may include:

  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Repair and maintain manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose electrical and control system issues
  • Install and replace motors, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, and other production equipment
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automation systems
  • Install and troubleshoot sensors, drives, VFDs, and control panels
  • Perform equipment changeovers and machine improvements
  • Support production by minimizing downtime
  • Document repairs and preventative maintenance activities
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects

Requirements

 

Qualifications

Ideal candidates may possess experience in one or more of the following:

  • Industrial maintenance
  • Electrical troubleshooting
  • PLC programming or troubleshooting
  • Mechanical maintenance
  • Hydraulics
  • Pneumatics
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Motors and motor controls
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Robotics and automation
  • Conveyor systems
  • HVAC or facility maintenance
  • Industrial controls
  • Preventative maintenance systems

Education may include:

  • Technical diploma
  • Associate degree
  • Apprenticeship
  • Journeyman certification
  • Equivalent work experience

  • Responding to equipment breakdowns in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
