Canad Inns Destination Centre Grand Forks is seeking a motivated, dependable, and guest-focused professional to join our team as an Assistant Guest Services Manager.
This position supports the daily operation of the Guest Services department and assists with leading the Front Desk and Night Audit teams. The successful candidate will help ensure guests receive a welcoming, efficient, and professional experience from arrival through departure.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operation of the Front Desk and Guest Services department.
- Support, coach, and provide direction to Front Desk and Night Audit employees.
- Help create schedules and maintain appropriate departmental coverage.
- Ensure employees follow hotel policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Assist guests with reservations, check-ins, checkouts, billing questions, requests, and concerns.
- Respond to guest complaints professionally and work toward timely resolutions.
- Review arrivals, departures, special requests, room assignments, and group reservations.
- Monitor hotel occupancy, room availability, oversells, high balances, and operational reports.
- Assist with employee training, onboarding, performance feedback, and department communication.
- Support cash-handling procedures, shift audits, credit-card transactions, and account accuracy.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, Security, Sales, Food and Beverage, and other departments.
- Act as the Manager on Duty when assigned.
- Assist with emergency response procedures and guest-safety concerns.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional front-desk environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by hotel management.
Qualifications
- Previous hotel, front-desk, customer-service, or supervisory experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to remain professional and composed during busy or challenging situations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Comfortable working with reservation systems, computers, payment terminals, and office software.
- Ability to handle confidential guest and employee information appropriately.
- Dependable attendance and the ability to work independently.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts as required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
