About the Role
Ketjen is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Tax Accountant to support and assist the Company’s global income tax compliance and reporting activities with an office location in the Clear Lake area.
The role will support and assist with Asia, Europe, Middle East, and Americas income tax activities. This role is responsible for assisting with accurate and timely compliance with all types of income tax, transfer pricing reporting, local country compliance, withholding tax, Pillar Two, OECD and other operational income tax requirements across manufacturing, sales, distribution, shared service centers, and corporate operations.
This role will be a vital component of the global income tax reporting landscape as the company grows its global footprint and increases its customer base. This will be a key role in assisting the global income tax management of the company.
The role will work with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Human Resources, and plant operations to assist with proper tax treatment of transactions, mitigate risk, and manage audits. This position requires basic knowledge of income tax reporting in foreign jurisdictions, attention-to-detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, manufacturing-focused environment. The person must be flexible with working arrangements to work with tax management based in the US and with advisors and consultants around the globe especially in Asia, Middle East and the Americas.
The Senior Tax Accountant will report to the Ketjen Income Tax Manager, based in the US, in assisting and managing the global income tax reporting requirements for the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Tax Compliance & Reporting
• Assist with analysis and filing of Non-US income tax filings, and other income tax submissions to ensure timely and accurate compliance.
• Maintain a global income tax compliance calendar and ensure timely filing of tax payments and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Reconcile income tax payable and deferred tax accounts, support month-end, quarterly, and year-end close activities, and maintain required documentation.
• Assist with income tax reporting compliance and controls from a US GAAP reporting perspective.
• Monitor country income tax legislation and impact on company operations and ensure ongoing compliance.
Audit Support & Risk Management
• Assist with income tax audits and correspondence by gathering documentation and assisting with coordination of external advisors and internal stakeholders.
• Identify potential tax exposures and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk.
• Assist with maintaining internal controls and documentation to support compliance and audit readiness.
Business Partnership & Advisory
• Provide assistance on tax treatment of certain intercompany transactions and transfer pricing documentation requirements.
• Assist with new business initiatives, system changes, and operational projects by evaluating income tax implications.
Process Improvement & Systems Support
• Assist with planning and continuous improvement activities
• Support ERP tax configuration and automation initiatives to enhance compliance and reduce manual effort and improve efficiencies for income tax reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 4 to 6 years of experience in income tax and transactional tax requirements within a corporate and/or public accounting environment. Candidates should have experience in both environments if possible.
• Experience with non-US income tax and tax compliance for various locations (i.e. EU, Middle East, and Asia for example)
• Experience working with SAP.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, diligence, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to be flexible with working hours.
Preferred
• Experience working with OneSource income tax provision is a plus.
• Experience with Netherlands and other EMEA income tax filings is a plus.
• Experience supporting manufacturing or industrial organizations.
• Experience with tax automation tools (e.g., OneSource, Avalara, or similar).
