Job Title: Senior Material Handler - 1st Shift

The Senior Material Handler – 1st Shift is responsible for the warehouse and distribution activities supporting both Manufacturing and Distribution operations.
They will ensure materials and processes are handled with the highest level of quality, in accordance with established procedures, in a safe and efficient manner.
Location: This is an on-site position based in Kalamazoo, MI.
What you will do:
Use warehouse systems, handheld devices, and printers to support inventory movement and maintain order picking accuracy
Manage inventory through the order pick and pack process, ensuring accurate material movement and documentation
Pick customer orders and receive, transfer, consolidate, and store inventory in designated warehouse locations
Prepare, organize, and ship customer orders in accordance with shipping schedules and customer requirements
Create shipments and apply labeling for hazardous and non-hazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements
Complete required regulatory training, including 49 CFR, IATA, and IMDG, as applicable
Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight
Operate powered industrial vehicles (PIV), including order selectors, Bendi forklifts, reach trucks, and powered pallet jacks
Operate warehouse equipment in accordance with safety procedures and company guidelines
Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness in accordance with daily 5S standards
Support physical inventory counts and cycle counting activities
Collaborate with warehouse, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support operational workflows
Identify operational issues and escalate them to supervisors or appropriate teams as needed
Prepare shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and product labels
Print and apply labels for pallets, freight, and packages in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements
Coordinate or schedule freight pickups with carriers as required
Perform additional warehouse and distribution duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or GED required
1–2 years of experience performing warehouse, distribution, or material handling activities such as receiving, inventory movement, order picking, packing, shipping, or operating material handling equipment required
Experience operating Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) equipment in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environments required
Experience handling or shipping hazardous materials in accordance with applicable safety regulations preferred
The hiring range for this position is: $19-21/hour, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
