Role Highlight: Lead the Finance Shared Services function within a global technology services business.
Role Overview
Due to continued growth and a significant focus on operational improvement, a rare opportunity exists for an experienced General Manager - Finance Shared Services to lead the shared services function of an established ASX-listed Australian technology services business.
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this is a genuine opportunity to take ownership of the function and improve its effectiveness from first principles. The successful candidate will lead a team of 26 across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Project Accounting and Order Management.
The role will be both strategic and operational, with clear ownership of a number of existing business challenges including AR ageing, PO and invoice controls, process efficiency and automation. With the business having grown significantly through acquisition, this is an opportunity for a proven Shared Services leader to bring best-practice thinking, establish stronger processes and controls, and create a scalable operating model for the next phase of growth.
Responsibilities
The role will have overall responsibility for the performance, development and transformation of the Finance Shared Services function, including:
- Lead, manage and develop a team of 26 across Sales Orders, AR, AP, Payroll and Project Accounting
- Establish and drive a high-performing Shared Services operating model across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines
- Review existing processes and controls and identify opportunities for improvement from first principles
- Take ownership of AR performance, including reducing aged receivables and improving cash collection
- Strengthen PO, invoice and AP controls across the group
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives across the function including identifying opportunities to leverage technology and AI to improve efficiency and scalability
- Continue to develop a strong culture of engagement, accountability and continuous improvement
- Lead and develop six direct reports, ensuring capability and leadership depth across the function
- Support the integration and standardisation of processes across the businesses acquired by the group
- Establish clear KPIs and performance measures that drive measurable improvements across Shared Services
Candidate Profile
You will be an experienced Shared Services leader with 10+ years experience in Shared Services leadership, combined with a genuine passion for building and improving high-performing finance operations.
The successful candidate will be motivated by the opportunity to push the agenda of continuous improvement and demonstrate a strong understanding of what best practice looks like.
You will bring strong technical and operational fundamentals, with experience in leading sizeable teams, with a proven track record of maintaining culture, high engagement and performance.
Candidates coming from a recognised best-in-class Shared Services environment will also be strongly considered and above all, you will be a strong people leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution. You will be comfortable identifying problems, developing solutions and then driving those solutions through to measurable outcomes.
