Position Purpose: Coordinate, plan, design, implement and maintain merchandise standards, fixtures and displays in the Retail Store. Promote the "catalog in life" at the Retail Store by supporting the corporate merchandising and communications strategies through linkages with Advertising, Promotions, and Product Development.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring the L.L.Bean catalog to life by translating the corporate merchandising and communications strategies into three dimensional form representative of the L.L.Bean personality.

  • Contribute design and merchandising expertise to the merchandise work team dialogue for development of floorplans, graphic placement and display impact.

  • Communicate with Retail Advertising and Promotions Coordinators to develop display and window presentations in support of advertised promotions and events.

  • Provide design and resource services for a wide range of internal customers including the Retail Store, Outdoor Discovery Program, Outlet Stores, executive offices, Public Affairs, and company sponsored events.

  • Source and manage commercial accounts with outside vendors as required.

  • Coordinate and track department-specific visual expenditures.

  • Provide direction and training on merchandising standards to sales department personnel.

  • Coordinate and direct manpower resources external to department for major changeovers and day-to-day tactical needs.

  • Develop and maintain safe and efficient workspaces in visual workshop and multiple external warehouses.

  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date awareness of industry trends, market resources, and competition positioning.

  • Source and design new merchandising props, decorative elements, and seasonal trim.

  • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures. Report any unsafe acts or conditions to the proper person.

  • Perform additional related responsibilities as requested.

Education Level: 2-Year Associates Degree

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Assoicates Degree Preferred

  • 2+ years of retail store experience

  • Demonstrated capacity for collaborative work in a retail environment, is adept at serving customers and teams from a variety of backgrounds

L.L.Bean uses a market-based compensation approach. The anticipated starting base pay for this position is $19.24 - $24.59. Individual compensation may vary based on factors such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, education, geographic location, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
