Our Space division in East Aurora, NY is eager to welcome a Sr. Buyer role to their dynamic team! Internally known as a Sr. Buyer/Planner, this role will focus on the more tactical aspects of procurement including PO preparation/execution, negotiation/pricing and cross-collaboration across critical functions including Engineering, Quality and Program Teams. You will report to the Procurement Manager and enjoy a hybrid work schedule.
To be considered for this Sr. Buyer/Planner role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain (or similar relevant field of study) with a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in a similar, supply chain/procurement/operations focused

Associate’s degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
~PLUS~
Prior experience in a complex manufacturing environment; Aerospace/Defense-specific industry experience preferred
Knowledge of procurement processes including PO placement and schedule management.
Knowledge of/experience with FAR/DFAR strongly preferred.
As our Sr. Buyer/Planner, you will make critical contributions by holding responsibility for:
Place and expedite purchase orders; monitoring PO status and delivery dates
Negotiating pricing, lead-time, and terms with suppliers to meet program budgets and deadlines
Work collaboratively with all functions to ensure conforming Source of Supply (this includes quality, design, cost, and timing issues.)
Responsible for effective communication within and outside of supply chain function, including escalations to leadership
Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduction of costs including new or alternate sources
Additional responsibilities relating to procurement activities to include:
Forming and executing sourcing strategies for assigned programs
Building relationships with critical suppliers and being the main point of contact for all programmatic discussions
Managing supplier performance, on-time delivery, and quality metrics
Escalating and resolving supplier issues
Creation of Sole Source Justification and Price Analysis documents in support of Government DFAR regulations

Salary Range Transparency:

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
