Job Description Summary
The Fleet Operational Intelligence Leader, within Heavy Duty Services Engineering, is an SPB1 role at the intersection of engineering, data intelligence, services innovation, and commercial impact for Gas Power — accountable for a $50MM engineering organization that turns fleet data into actionable intelligence at scale through an AI-enabled innovation pipeline, generates $60MM in GE Vernova revenue and $250MM in annual customer value, serves 600+ customers across 2,700+ turbine trains globally, and underpins the daily operations of over 1,600 Gas Power professionals through fleet data and intelligence dashboards. The defining opportunity of this role is to architect a net-new business capability — unifying three technical organizations, 140+ engineers, and 140+ contractors — that strategically aligns Reliability, Analytics, and Monitoring & Diagnostics into a single intelligence capability that no competitor can replicate. By establishing an integrated Reliability → Analytics → Diagnostics → Closure model, this leader will create differentiated fleet intelligence capabilities that improve customer outcomes, strengthen GE Vernova’s service value proposition, and enable the development of new monetizable offerings and revenue streams.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own the execution for a $50MM+ organization that generates $60MM+ in annual revenue and enables over $250MM in annual customer value — with accountability for sustainable growth, margin expansion, and service quality at global scale
- Architect the integration of Reliability, Analytics, and Monitoring & Diagnostics into a unified intelligence capability — leveraging strategic cross-business partnerships to accelerate integration and eliminate redundancy — that sets a new competitive standard for proactive fleet insights and creates compounding strategic and commercial value
- Own the incubation of new intelligence-based service offerings, converting technical differentiation and proven customer outcomes into scalable commercial models and incremental revenue streams.
- Establish and operate an integrated Reliability → Analytics → Diagnostics → Closure model that enables customers and the business to identify issues earlier, prioritize opportunities more precisely, and act with greater confidence
- Enhance the Lean operating model — embedding standard work, daily management, and continuous improvement practices that drive consecutive year-over-year performance improvement across the organization
- Advance the AI and analytics innovation pipeline — identifying, prioritizing, and deploying machine learning and digital solutions that improve the quality, speed, and impact of fleet intelligence
- Lead a globally distributed, multi-functional organization spanning engineering, analytics, platforms, and remote services — building leadership capability, organizational effectiveness, and a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and continuous improvement
- Govern the quality, consistency, cybersecurity, and business impact of analytics, tools, models, scripts, platforms, and digital workflows across all Fleet Operational Intelligence functions
- Partner with Pole Leaders to ensure predictive and diagnostic insights are actionable, regionally contextualized, and driven to closure — converting fleet intelligence into measurable customer outcomes including reduced unplanned downtime, improved fleet reliability, and expanded service capabilities
- Partner with Product Service Engineering and Services Systems Engineering to connect operational intelligence with root cause analyses, outage planning, corrective actions, and fleet strategy
- Serve as a senior change leader for Gas Power's Best Running Fleet agenda, establishing durable cross-functional governance and execution discipline that drives measurable fleet and customer outcomes
- Build a customer‑centric, high‑accountability culture focused on safety, technical excellence, speed and continuous improvement.
- Develop and retain key talent; ensure robust succession, coaching and leadership development across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related technical field from an accredited university
- Minimum 12 years of progressive technical leadership across multiple engineering or technology disciplines, including demonstrated experience leading organizations of 100+ people with accountability for team performance, talent development, and operational outcomes
- Demonstrated experience owning a significant operating budget ($30MM+) and/or leading a revenue-generating technical service, with accountability for financial performance, growth, and organizational transformation in a complex, global environment
Desired Characteristics
- Advanced degree in a relevant technical or business discipline
- Deep understanding of one or more relevant domains, including reliability engineering, monitoring & diagnostics, fleet analytics, digital platforms, or power generation services
- Strategist and operator in equal measure — demonstrated ability to develop a clear, forward-looking organizational strategy and translate it into executable plans with defined milestones, accountable owners, and measurable outcomes; equally comfortable in the senior leader review and the daily management meeting
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, commercial leaders, and external customers; track record of representing complex technical strategy clearly at the executive level and converting that communication into alignment, investment, and action
- Lean practitioner with a demonstrable track record of simplification, standardization, and productivity improvement — including application of a Lean operating model across large, complex engineering organizations
- Demonstrated ability to develop leaders and build high-performing global teams through periods of significant organizational change
- Servant leadership mindset: humble, open, and actively developing leaders at all levels of the organization
- Track record of implementing AI and machine learning solutions in an engineering or technical services context, with measurable improvements in quality, productivity, or customer outcomes
- Data-driven decision-maker who acts decisively despite ambiguity
- One Team mentality — leads horizontally, breaks down organizational silos, and keeps the customer outcome at the center of every decision
- Restless dissatisfaction with the status quo — consistently challenges existing processes and structures in pursuit of better outcomes for customers and the business
