The purpose of this position is to facilitate the provision of golf services to the citizens of Allen and the golfing community. This is accomplished by providing numerous forms of customer service at the golf course such as gathering practice balls and stocking ball machine. Other duties may include the cleaning and preparation of golf carts, tournament assistance, golf bag assistance, various ground maintenance tasks and interfacing with other City employees and citizens. This position does serve as a lead to other employees.

- Serves as lead to Golf Attendants by overseeing outside service operations, ensuring proper procedures are followed, organizing cart storage area, providing training to golf attendants and maintaining schedules.
- Provides customer service by greeting golf course patrons, provides facility information as needed, distributes golf carts as directed, handles golf bags for patrons and by answering patrons’ questions and concerns.
- Washes, waxes and stages golf carts, and ensures cart batteries are fully charged.
- Provides service to range facility in maintaining the driving range by gathering practice balls, returning them to the range attendant office or golf shop and stocking ball machine; opening and closing the cart barn, addressing customer concerns when applicable.
- Maintains the cart preparation facility by reporting problems to the appropriate staff for repair, ordering parts, and basic golf cart and range equipment repair.
Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- High School diploma or equivalent with no prior relevant work experience.
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Safe driving record and Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Clear criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen
- This is a full-time non-exempt position with benefits.
- Work schedule includes varying shifts (6am - 2pm, 2pm - Close) including evenings and weekends.
Medium: Exerting 20-50 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10 lbs. constantly.Knowledge of:
- Golf course operations, services, and customer service standards
- Safe operation and maintenance of golf carts and related equipment
- Driving range procedures and golf ball collection techniques
- Basic principles of employee training and leadership
- City of Allen policies, PRIDE values, and departmental procedures
- Occupational safety practices relevant to grounds maintenance and equipment use
Skilled in:
- Providing courteous and professional service to golf patrons
- Leading and training part-time or seasonal golf attendants
- Operating, cleaning, and maintaining golf carts and range equipment
- Effectively organizing and maintaining cart storage and preparation areas
- Communicating clearly with patrons, staff, and supervisors
- Resolving patron concerns in a prompt and respectful manner
- Multitasking and adapting in a fast-paced outdoor environment
