Position Summary
Position Summary
The AI Bio Hub is seeking experienced mentors to advise founders building companies across artificial intelligence, biotechnology, therapeutics, drug discovery, diagnostics, computational biology, synthetic biology, healthcare, and related fields.
Mentors will provide founders with practical, experience-based guidance on scientific strategy, technical development, company formation, product strategy, customer discovery, regulatory planning, commercialization, fundraising, and organizational growth.
This is an opportunity to support emerging entrepreneurs and help shape companies working at the forefront of AI-enabled scientific innovation.
Responsibilities
• Advise participating founders through individual mentoring sessions, office hours, workshops, and company reviews.
• Help founders evaluate and refine their scientific, technical, product, and commercial strategies.
• Provide guidance on company formation, team development, customer discovery, market validation, and fundraising.
• Support founders in assessing scientific feasibility, technical differentiation, data strategy, validation requirements, and intellectual property considerations.
• Offer insight into clinical development, regulatory pathways, healthcare economics, reimbursement, partnerships, and commercialization when relevant.
• Help teams understand the responsible use of AI and sensitive scientific, biological, and healthcare data.
• Provide constructive feedback on company presentations, investor materials, partnership strategies, and fundraising plans.
• Make relevant introductions to researchers, clinicians, operators, investors, corporate partners, and potential customers when appropriate.
• Participate in AI Bio Hub events, panels, Demo Days, and founder programming.
• Promote a collaborative, inclusive, and scientifically rigorous community.
• Help founders evaluate and refine their scientific, technical, product, and commercial strategies.

Qualifications
• Significant experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, therapeutics, diagnostics, computational biology, synthetic biology, medical technology, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience as a founder, executive, investor, scientist, clinician, researcher, product leader, technical leader, or industry operator.
• Demonstrated understanding of early-stage company development and the challenges involved in translating innovation into commercially viable products.
• Experience advising, mentoring, investing in, or supporting founders and early-stage companies.
• Excellent judgment, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to provide candid and practical guidance while allowing founders to retain ownership of their decisions.
• Commitment to responsible innovation, scientific integrity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Experience
• Experience as a founder, executive, investor, scientist, clinician, researcher, product leader, technical leader, or industry operator.
• Demonstrated understanding of early-stage company development and the challenges involved in translating innovation into commercially viable products.
• Experience advising, mentoring, investing in, or supporting founders and early-stage companies.

Preferred Experience
• Experience with AI-enabled drug discovery, computational biology, clinical development, digital health, medical devices, diagnostics, synthetic biology, or healthcare data.
• Familiarity with regulatory strategy, intellectual property, clinical validation, biopharmaceutical partnerships, healthcare procurement, or reimbursement.
• An established network across the Cambridge and Boston life sciences, healthcare, technology, investment, or academic ecosystem.
• Previous involvement with an accelerator, venture studio, incubator, university innovation program, or founder community.
Engagement
This is a part-time mentor appointment. Time commitments will vary based on program needs, founder requirements, and mentor availability.
