Are you passionate about the intersection of aeronautical engineering and software
development? We are seeking a highly motivated Methods & Tools Software Developer
engineer to join the Data Processing and Analysis Development group within Ground Station
Team as part of the Flight and Integration Test Centre
You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the software ecosystem
used by the Test/System Specialists to perform their analysis of Rig/Benches/Ground/Flight
tests data. Additionally, you will act as a bridge between the Analysis Community in the
Spanish perimeter and Ground Station in terms of tools and infrastructure, ensuring direct
communication and providing technical support.
In this role, you will contribute to all current Airbus Defence & Space programs—including
A330 MRTT, A400M, C295, Eurofighter, SIRTAP, Eurodrone—while developing analysis tools
and providing technical support to multiple areas – ranging from Avionics and Mission,
Performance, Handling Qualities, Powerplant, General systems, Aerial Delivery, Datalinks…
RESPONSIBILITIES
Tool Development & Maintenance: Design, implement, and maintain software tools to
be used by the Test Centre Analysis Teams.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with specialized Test Analysis groups
(Performance, Handling Qualities, Avionics and Mission, Aerial Delivery, etc), to
translate and integrate their mathematical models into functional software tools.
Shape the Future: Play a key role in the definition of the future technology stack for
Analysis Tools, ensuring the migration and integration of our current toolset into the
new Time Series Analysis Tool Platform for Military (TSASM).
Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a technical point of contact between the Ground
Station Team and the Analysis Community in Spain, ensuring a constant
communication and providing support related to Analysis Tools when needed.
SKILLS
Educational background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering or
Aerospace Engineering with a focus on scientific computing.
Programming Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of MATLAB for scientific applications.
- Proficiency in Python, with deep experience in core data analysis libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, and the Jupyter ecosystem. Familiarity with other Python libraries like SimPy and Numba is highly desirable.
- Experience compiled languages, Fortran 77/90 and C++, or a strong willingness to learn them. o CI/CD: Git mandatory, Jenkins and Nexus desirable.
Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.
Analytical Mindset: A deep interest in scientific programming and the ability to
implement mathematical equations into efficient code.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate
technical software concepts to non-software engineers (and vice versa).
Language Skills: English advanced.
