Position Summary: 
Transco Northwest Inc. is seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Conveyor Belt Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of conveyor belt systems and related material-handling equipment.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, comfortable working in industrial environments, and willing to perform physically demanding work. Experience with conveyor systems, belt splicing, industrial maintenance, welding, or millwright work is highly desirable.

Responsibilities: 
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyor belt systems.
  • Perform belt splicing, vulcanizing, lacing, and mechanical fastening as required.
  • Remove and replace damaged or worn conveyor belts.
  • Inspect belts, pulleys, rollers, idlers, bearings, motors, and other conveyor components.
  • Track and tension conveyor belts to ensure proper operation.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and complete necessary repairs.
  • Replace bearings, rollers, pulleys, gearboxes, and other conveyor components.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine conveyor inspections.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, impact tools, and other industrial equipment.
  • Perform basic fabrication and welding when qualified.
  • Read measurements, work instructions, and equipment drawings.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
  • Complete work documentation and communicate equipment issues to supervisors.
  • Follow all company, customer, OSHA, and MSHA safety requirements.
  • Properly use required PPE, fall protection, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Work safely around operating industrial equipment and heavy machinery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 
  • Previous experience with conveyor belts, industrial maintenance, millwright work, mechanical repair, or a related trade preferred.
  • Conveyor belt installation and splicing experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
  • Strong attention to safety and detail.
  • Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Ability to travel to customer/job sites as required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Physical Requirements: 
This is a physically demanding position. Employees must be able to:
  • Lift and carry up to 50–75 pounds.
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, climb, and reach.
  • Work at heights and in confined or restricted areas when required.
  • Work around dust, noise, heavy equipment, and moving machinery.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Wear required PPE for the duration of the shift.

Work Environment: 
Work is performed primarily at industrial and construction sites, which may include cement plants, aggregate facilities, manufacturing plants, mines, and other material-handling operations. Employees may be exposed to dust, noise, heights, moving equipment, and changing weather conditions.
Schedules may include overtime, weekends, early mornings, evenings, and occasional travel depending on customer and project requirements.
