We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to our Credit Team!
The Credit Portfolio Manager is responsible for credit underwriting, ongoing portfolio administration, and credit quality oversight for an assigned portfolio. This role partners closely with Credit Leadership, Business Operations, and Business Development to ensure risks are identified, monitored, and managed in accordance with credit policy, regulatory requirements, and GreatAmerica risk appetite. The Credit Portfolio Manager supports new originations, renewals, annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and exception resolution while contributing to portfolio performance and sound credit outcomes.
As a Credit Portfolio Manager, you will:
Monitors and services the commercial obligations through quality portfolio management work related to the annual servicing review process and exception clearing.
Oversee document compliance, covenant compliance, and financial reporting requirements; resolve exceptions timely
Contacts borrowers and Vendors to obtain updated financial information to ensure quality and recency of documentation within files.
Meets deadlines and schedules associated with analyzing financial information to evaluate the credit worthiness of on-going exposure.
Properly grades risk of each obligation in the portfolio, per policy. Recommends adjustments to risk grades as circumstances change or new information becomes available.
Gathers and analyzes credit information on current and potential borrowers including preparation of both business and personal financial statement spreads. Prepares written summaries and financial trend, cash flow, and collateral analysis
Underwrites commercial credit requests and recommends loan structures by drawing conclusions from the information provided as to the financial condition of the client and identifying key credit risks and mitigating factors.
Assists in the preparation of problem loan reports on adversely graded borrowers and assist in loan workouts as appropriate
Reviews and analyzes third party reports such as appraisals, environmental reports, and credit bureau reports.
Researches economic environments, business and industry cycles, and assesses management and operations to understand non-financial risks associated with the borrowers and identifying mitigating factors.
Assures that large commercial relationships are following State and Federal regulations and Bank policies and procedures.
Builds and maintains a positive working relationships with internal business partners (Bank President, Credit Leadership, Operational Risk, and Operations, etc.).
Undertakes special projects related to job function as determined by Credit Leadership.
Continuously updates skills by participating in professional training and seeks opportunities to improve skills through cross-training offered by the Bank.
Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
Has responsibility for following regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti- Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering or other unlawful activities. Perform credit underwriting and risk assessment for new transactions, renewals, extensions, and amendments, including preparation of clear, concise credit memorandums supporting approval decisions.
Provide portfolio reporting, analytics, and ad hoc analysis to Credit Leadership.
Live and promote the GreatAmerica Principles and Standards
Perform other related duties as assigned
To be successful in this role you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Five (5) or more years of commercial credit analysis experience, preferably in a community banking or private banking setting that includes analyzing, negotiating, and/or structuring borrowing transactions
Extensive experience in analyzing complex financial statements and tax returns.
Credit analysis training or experience appropriate for the job requirements.
Skills and Abilities
Highly developed communication and presentation skills, including the ability to write clear and concise credit correspondence and to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
Strong interpersonal skills with emphasis on relationship building both internally and with GreatAmerica Bank clients and prospects.
Strong organization, prioritization, and time management.
Attention to detail and sound judgment.
Ability to advocate persuasively
Broad knowledge of credit principles and commercial lending best practices.
Capability to independently and proactively manage various relationships and effectively manage multiple priorities.
Working knowledge of credit risk principles, financial analysis, and loan/lease documentation.
