About The Job:
Revenue Recognition & Contract Accounting
- Lead end-to-end revenue recognition under FRS 115 for project-based and facilities management contracts, including assessment of performance obligations, transaction price, variable consideration, contract modifications and revenue timing.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex revenue matters and ensure consistent, well-documented accounting conclusions across Business Units and projects.
- Own and maintain revenue recognition accounting memos, control playbooks and standard templates covering performance obligations, variable consideration, contract modifications, cut-off, contract assets/liabilities and other key judgments.
- Manage month-end processes for contract assets/liabilities, unbilled revenue, deferred revenue, retention and related reconciliations to project systems, billing schedules and general ledger balances.
- Review progress-to-date, cost-to-complete and project margin inputs with Operations Finance teams to ensure appropriate revenue and cost recognition, timely escalation of risks and clear follow-through on corrective actions.
- Conduct periodic refreshers and training for Business Units, Operations and Finance stakeholders to reinforce revenue recognition requirements, documentation standards and audit readiness.
Controllership & Compliance
- Lead revenue-related month-end close and Group reporting activities in compliance with US GAAP, FRS and Group reporting requirements.
- Review P&L variance analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations for revenue-related accounts, ensuring appropriate accounting treatments, timely issue resolution and clear management commentary.
- Own and strengthen SOX processes over revenue recognition, billing and contract accounting, including walkthroughs, control evidence, remediation of gaps and continuous improvement of control design.
- Drive strong governance over contract set-up, billing cut-off, revenue adjustments and key accounting judgments, ensuring clear ownership and timely escalation of exceptions.
Statutory Reporting and Audits
- Lead preparation and review of revenue-related statutory financial statement schedules and disclosures, ensuring completeness, accuracy and audit readiness.
- Act as key finance liaison with external auditors and internal risk/compliance teams on revenue recognition, contract accounting and related control matters, ensuring timely resolution of audit requests and findings.
- Prepare and review technical accounting documentation to support significant judgments, audit queries and management sign-offs.
Business Partnering
- Partner with Business Units, Operations Finance and Controllership teams on contract performance, margin drivers, billing health, working capital, unbilled revenue, receivables and project tracking workbooks.
- Provide proactive revenue insights and challenge assumptions where needed to support commercial discipline, accurate forecasting and sound financial decision-making.
- Influence cross-functional stakeholders to align financial objectives with business priorities while maintaining compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Process Improvement and Other Responsibilities
- Identify process and control gaps across project accounting, billing, revenue recognition and close, and lead practical remediation with clear ownership and timelines.
- Drive automation, standardisation and system improvements for project setup, billing, revenue recognition, reconciliations and reporting dashboards.
- Develop and maintain scalable processes, templates and review routines to improve consistency, efficiency and control effectiveness across revenue-related activities.
- Lead or support other finance-related projects and assignments as required, including regional or Group initiatives impacting revenue accounting and reporting.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in finance and accounting or equivalent with minimal 8-10 years of relevant experience.
